Instruction

Digital Scholarship instruction helps students explore new digital modalities of research, analysis, and publication. We support DS-based instruction by offering:

  • Guidance on lesson planning and curriculum design.
  • In-class hands-on, project-based DS methods and tools instruction inside the classroom. (We highly recommend this approach.)
  • Single in-class sessions and out-of-class workshops on methods and tools.
    • Includes theoretical discussions based on the latest research published across the many fields DS touches.

To start a conversation with us, please fill out our form or email us at digitalscholarship@bc.edu. For more information, see our Digital Scholarship Instruction documentation.

Examples of DS learning opportunities include how to:

  • Use data visualization and/or mapping/GIS to analyze patterns and trends;
  • Use mapping/GIS to visualize movement and the locations of specific events;
  • Use network analysis to visualize historical social networks;
  • Create digital exhibits and publish a digital collection;
  • Create critical editions of literary texts or historical documents;
  • Produce 3D models.
